Trinidad Cement changes two executive managers

Trinidad Cement Ltd has announced two changes to its executive management team. The Cemex subsidiary's General Manager, Guillermo Rojo de Diego, will be replaced by Cemex Commercial VP, Gonzalo Rueda Castillo. Roberto Adrian Villarreal Villarreal will take over from Gustavo Alejandro Ruiz Silva as group strategic planning manager. Trinidad Cement Ltd (TCL) saw revenue increase by 8.2 per cent YoY to TTD2.229bn (US$328.8m) from TTD2.061bn in 2022. Trinidad Cement Ltd (TCL), part of CEMEX, will increase its cement prices by 20 March 2023. Barbados-based Rock Hard Cement Ltd has won a final court ruling regarding the classification of its cement and therefore its related tariff. Cemex has increased its offer for a 74.9 per cent interest in Trinidad Cement by 12.6 per cent to TTD5.07/share. Trinidad Cement and its subsidiaries operate principally in Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica and Barbados.  Cemex has raised some US$500m from selling its reinforced concrete pipe manufacturing business to the privately-held Quikrete Holdings of Atlanta (GA), USA with a potential US$40m to follow, depending on future performance.

Jamaica-based Caribbean Cement Company has posted a third-quarter loss of JMD81m (US$0.63m), reports the Gleaner newspaper.
